Image rights and uses
Images on this website fall into three groups:
- The Lodge’s own photography. Photographs of the Lodge room, its regalia, its events and its members are the copyright of York Lodge No. 236 and the Duncombe Place Masonic Museum. All rights reserved; please ask before reusing them elsewhere.
- Credited third-party images. Where an image is drawn from an external collection, such as a museum, the credit line beneath the image (or on the page it appears on) states the rights holder and the licence it is used under. For example, an image credited to the British Museum is shared under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence: free to share and adapt for non-commercial use, provided the British Museum is credited and any adaptation is shared under the same licence.
- Other historical illustrations. A small number of historical images (for example, of period coins or banknotes used to illustrate an article) are included for non-commercial historical illustration. Copyright in each remains with its own rights holder. If you believe you hold rights in an image used this way and have a concern, please contact the Lodge Secretary and it will be addressed promptly.
